Today I delivered our 7 preemie hats to the hospital's maternity ward. They were gratefully accepted and Katrina, the Charge Nurse, was very impressed with the wonderfulness of our hats. She oohed and awed a lot. Group, we did well!

That's news to make a knitter feel good. Thanks, Choc!
Choc,
Thanks so much for your nice comment at "Knitting Weather."
I left another message at the Cancer Connection and am waiting to hear back. I haven't started knitting a chemo cap yet, but still intend to. Has anyone else out there gotten started?
Kathy,
I haven't started knitting a chemo hat yet. Waiting for "official" guidance and I have a sweater to work on in the meantime. I thought that I'd look at the list of patterns Linda provided earlier and choose one from that list.
I enjoyed reading about your recent yarn dying and checked out the links that you provided. I may try some koolaid dying in the fall, which is when I expect to have the knitting done that I have promised to my DDs.
Kathy and Choc,
I've started a chemo cap, with a variegated eyelash-ey yarn, have about an inch done, and will probably finish by this weekend. I was going to knit while I waited for my start time at the Gold Nugget Triathlon, this past weekend, but ended up volunteering as a lap counter for the swimming, so didn't get much knitting done!
Linda
Linda,
Did you participate as an individual or part of a team in the triathlon?
If you were on a team, which leg did you do?
Kathy, I was part of the WOMBATS team ("Tri-Bats"), but we all did the whole Gold Nugget Triathlon. I was very pleased to be able to do the whole thing, and I didn't even need to use my staff during my four mile walk. It's always a fun event!
Linda
Sorry Choc, I accidentally addressed my comment to Kathy! Do you do triathlons, or are you interested in trying one?
Linda
Linda,
No, I don't do triathlons. I do admire people who are good at running, swimming and bicycling. I enjoy bike riding, but don't run and am not a comfortable swimmer.
